Heather Graham strip club and the Hangover

Heather Joan Graham

Heather Graham Gallery

Heather Graham Gallery

DOB: January 29, 1970 is an American actress and fashion model.

Heather Graham says her visit to a strip club was very unimpressive, because the girls couldn’t dance.

Heather Graham was “disappointed” when she went to a strip club.

The actress learned to pole dance in preparation for her role as a stripper in ‘The Hangover’ and was astonished after seeing the less than impressive antics of her real-life counterparts.

She said: “I went to a strip club to prepare for the role but it was a big disappointment. I’d taken these classes on how to dance but if you go to a strip club, no-one’s dancing. Everyone just stands there. The girls are all just on stage and it’s all about lap dances.”

Heather is not the only celebrity who has learned to pole dance.

Supermodel Kate Moss showed off her skills in the White Stripes’ music video for ‘I Don’t Know What To Do With Myself’, while Britney Spears recently insisted a pole be installed in her hotel room.

The ‘Toxic’ singer – who is a huge fan of pole dancing as it helps maintain her new slender figure – made the unusual request to staff at London’s Dorchester Hotel, where she will be staying when she performs at the city’s O2 arena in June as part of the UK leg of her ‘Circus’ tour.

“Never say diet” according to the latest Shape Mag. Hmmm… I am always amused by such statements and looking at what Heather Graham eats, I can say without hesitation she does diet, but doesn’t know it. While there may be some extraordinary individuals who can eat whatever they want without gaining weight, for 99.49% of the population this does not hold true. A self described foodie, Heather Graham loves healthy Mexican and Japanese dishes.

Here’s one of Heather’s favorite recipes:

Heather’s Favorite Broccoli Recipe
While making a film in Dublin, Ireland last year, Heather got addicted to this crunch dish from Avoca Caf.

Serves: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5-7 minutes
Nutrition Score per serving:
(2 cups): 285 calories, 22 g fat (69% of calories), 4 g sat fat, 17 g carbs, 10 g protein, 7 g fiber, 176 mg calcium, 3 mg iron, 370 mg sodium

6 cups broccoli florets (bite size)
1 ½ cups cherry tomatoes, halved
4 oz feta cheese
¼ cup reduced-fat French dressing
Freshly ground pepper (optional)

Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spread hazelnuts on a shallow pan and bake for 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown. Rub off the skins with a clean kitchen towel and allow to cool.In a large mixing bowl, add broccoli, cherry tomatoes, and cheese. Add nuts once they’ve cooled. Pour on the dressing and toss gently to combine.

Celeb Diet Doctor Weigh In…
Here’s the deal. As a healthy foodie, Heather can control what goes in her dishes and judging by her recipe she’s eating low cal. People often get in trouble when they eat out because there are a lot of added stealth calories. The more you can prepare your meals at home the better you’ll be at controlling your calorie intake.

Heather works out on a daily basis and it shows. She says “I’ve been practicing yoga five days a week for 11 years. About two years ago I realized my stomach was kind of mushy, so I started doing Pilates twice a week to strengthen my abs. Now it feels and looks much more toned.” She also uses Transcendental Meditation to help her de-stress.

Heather, who is 37 btw, has got the bod of a woman in her 20’s. Her recipe of yoga and Pilates, along with being a healthy foodie is obviously paying off.

Squats with Arnold Schwarzenegger

Squats with Arnold Schwarzenegger

Squats is a lower body exercise used in strength training. The exercise’s main emphasis is on the quadriceps and the glutes, but it also involves the hamstrings, the calves, and the lower back. The squat is often called “the king of exercises” by those who believe it capable of inducing more and faster muscle growth than any other exercise.

The squat is done by bending the legs at the knees and hips, lowering the torso between the legs, and then reversing direction to stand up straight again. The torso remains relatively upright throughout the movement. It acts as a supporting structure, unlike its role in the deadlift.

Proper technique is critical, otherwise very serious injuries or gradual injury over a period of time can occur. The back must maintain its natural curvature and not “round out” (excessive lumbar or thoracic kyphosis), otherwise excess strain can be placed on the spine and cause serious injury.

Lifting belts can be used to help support the lower back.

Miranda Kerr Diet

miranda-kerr-twister

Miranda May Kerr (born 20 April 1983) is an Australian model, best known as one of the Victoria’s Secret Angels. She was the first Australian addition to the Victoria’s Secret campaign, and was the face of Australian fashion chain Portmans. Kerr rose to prominence within the fashion industry in her mid-teens after winning a 1997 Australian nation-wide model search hosted by Dolly Magazine and Impulse fragrances. Her youth caused controversy in the Australian press, which raised concerns about the ethics of showing such a young girl in skimpy clothing.Kerr’s career has continued to expand, and as of 2008, she has achieved international fame.

Miranda Kerr is definitely an advocate for healthy eating and exercise but it has been revealed that maintains her supermodel figure by taking green tea pills to aid weight loss. In my last post about Miranda Kerr she gave advice to a fan who wanted to know about her diet and exercise regime (see below). One thing you will notice is that the supermodel drinks alot of green tea. Green tea is a huge weight loss aid but many people don’t have time to drink enough tea or just hate the taste. A source close to Miranda revealed “She’s always been a healthy eater, she just needs a bit of help to get the last few kilos off before a shoot. She has been taking green tea Diet Pills ever since she found out she would be working for Victorias Secret. It’s not a big deal, heaps of the models use them to lose weight”

I have tried keeping an eye out for these mysterious green tea Diet Pills but haven’t had any luck. If you take them let us know if you are seeing such great results like Miranda!

A typical daily diet if I am home is:

Breakfast:
* Fresh fruit salad with yoghurt and muesli
* 2 x Rye toast with avocado and boiled eggs
* Water with lemon and ginger
* Cup of green tea

Pecans, almonds and walnuts to nibble on for morning tea (sometimes roasted in tamari)

Lunch:
Fresh tuna salad with spelt crispbreads
Water with lemon
Dandelion Tea

Piece of fruit or nuts for afternoon tea

Dinner:
Either a salmon steak or other fish or Lamb Loin chops or a piece of steak with veges or salad
I don’t eat a lot of potato, but I eat heaps of greens and sweet potato and pumpkin roasted.

Cup of Green tea with ginger

Hope this helps. Love Miranda

Row, Row, Row Your Way To Losing Pounds

One of the most useful activities that will help you lose wait is rowing. You can find a variety of fitness and athletic activities that use the rowing or similar techniques. The following is a list and description of some very popular and fun rowing techniques:

Canoeing: Believe it or not canoeing is not always just sitting on a calm, peaceful river drifting along carelessly. This activity takes work. You have to make sure that you are steering the boat in the right direction. Almost always, unless you are in a river with a slow steady current and not too much obstruction along its route, you usually have to row quite a bit. You also have to steer at every turn and curve of the river you are on. This can not only exercise your body but also can stimulate your mind and lead to greater health, and weight loss.

Whitewater Rafting: This activity is even more of a rush than canoeing, and is often done in rapid flowing waters, sometimes over small waterfalls. You need to pay attention while rafting down one of these trails, or you could get caught in a rock or drift downstream so fast you may not even know where you are going. Not only that, but you may wind up overturning the raft if you are not careful. The constant rowing and steering needed while making your way down the rapids is a constant workout for your arms and upper body.

Inner Tubing or Wood Rafting: Usually this activity is more for beginners who have never been rafting before. These activities are a quite a bit less strenuous than other types of rafting because they usually take place down a gentle stream or small river that has only a light current. However this could be a great warm-up and you can possibly lose a few pounds going down a river on one of these types of rafts (inner tube or wood raft).

Kayaking: If you love rowing sports and you have never been kayaking, this is the sport for you. Kayaking is much like a canoe only it is smaller and designed for just one person, who sits in a small seat area. A large portion of kayaks have safety devices that hold you in case you want to be brave and try to perform a flip in which you would complete a 360 degree turn under water and then back above water again. This activity is called the kayak roll. You can use this versatile piece of equipment to help you lose pounds-way more than navigating in a motorboat!

Swimming: This is one of the most common activities that actually involve stroke techniques rather than rowing motions. However, it is an outdoor water activity in which you use similar techniques to navigate through water. The technique used to travel through water while swimming is a great source of exercise for most of the muscles in both your arms and your legs.

Skiing and Ski Machines: Skiing is not usually thought of as a rowing activity any more than swimming. However, the sweeping strokes that you make while you maneuver along a trail or while you coast downhill usually involve the same or similar muscles that you would use while swimming or rowing. These workouts are especially great for the upper body and to help you give your heart a proper workout. They will also help you shed pounds.

Rowing Machines: Most weight rooms and aerobic workout centers have rowing machines in them. These can be used followed by bicycling exercises to work both your arms and legs, and well as most of your upper body. If you engage in this activity at a fast enough pace you will burn quite a bit of calories and fat.

You can also participate in variations of these above exercises to both decrease body fat and to build muscles. The right combination of these exercises will help firm all of your muscles and you will look thinner than you have ever looked before. Remember to also participate in a proper dieting program in order for your exercise to be safe and effective.

If you have any questions about the effectiveness of any of the above rowing exercises, you can ask a health care professional for more information. You can also learn more information through a certified personal fitness trainer or ask your friends and family for more workout tips. However you choose to go about losing weight and keeping it off, you will benefit from your workout and lifestyle changes greatly.

London Marathon – Celebrity Finish Line

The London Marathon is a popular road marathon that has been held each year in London since 1981, usually in April. The race is currently sponsored by Flora, as the Flora London Marathon. The 2009 London Marathon was held on Sunday April 26.

In addition to being one of the top five international marathons run over the traditional distance of 42.195 km (26 miles and 385 yards), the London Marathon is also a large, celebratory sporting festival, second only to the Great North Run in Newcastle, in terms of the number of participants. It is one of the World Marathon Majors, a two-year series of elite marathon racing that also includes the Boston, Chicago, New York and Berlin marathons.

Celebrity Quotes:

Gordon Ramsay (Celebrity chef and television personality) 4:20:11
“What a wonderful atmosphere! I was a little worried at the beginning because it was warm but when the showers came it was a nice relief. The whole 26 miles there were people shouting and cheering, it was so good to hear. My only concern was that Michel Roux would beat me. Having said that, I think I’m much younger than him and I have time on my side.”

James Cracknell (British Olympic rower)
“I had a good race. It was a strong first half of the race for me. About six miles to go I felt I was slowing, so kicked to try and maintain my speed. In the end it just got harder and harder and I was struggling to make the finish.”

Tony Audenshaw (British actor who is best known for his role as Bob Hope in ITV 1’s soap, Emmerdale)
“In one way I was disappointed that I didn’t break three hours – but what’s a second or so between friends. I was running as tarzan to keep the ‘banana army theme going’ and of course raising lots of money for our charity [leukaemia research]. Yes, I’ll be back next year if the old legs can keep running.”

Michel Roux (World renowned chef)
“I always enjoy the London Marathon. This is my tenth and it always gives me that extra special feeling. I’ve run in Paris and New York, this one I will always come back to.”

Graham Poll (Former English football referee)
“I knew running 26 miles was going to be tough but I didn’t realise it was going to be that tough! One of the things that kept me going was seeing people running for a charity or a loved one, that really spurs you on. Next year, not likely.

Ben Fogle (TV presenter)
“Watching the marathon on TV you tend to get a little complacent, but crossing that line really was a big relief to me. I was running for the RNLI and I know there were lots of other people doing the same. I hope my little bit adds to this great charity and then I’ll know that my run was worthwhile.”

Ronan Keating (Pop Singer)
“This was my first marathon and what a great feeling it was. Everything they told me about the atmosphere and the people on the streets was true. It is true that my training didn’t go any further than a couple of six milers – my wife will vouch for that.

When you run for a reason or a charity it makes it all worth while. I know the charity [Cancer Research UK] I was running for, me running here today will help enormously and I’ll be back.”

Chris Villiers / Nicola Wheeler (Emmerdale Actor / Actress)
Nicola said “I didn’t enjoy running today but it was the first marathon I’ve done. I think next year with a lot more training I’ll be back to enjoy it more, as this time it was about getting through it.”

Chris said “I knew I could do 20 miles in about four hours and it was a great help running with Nicola as she carried me through the other six. In fact, working together all the way along helped us both through the difficult parts.”

Chris Chittell (Emmerdale Actor)
“It doesn’t get any easier does it. The thought of bringing more awareness to Leukaemia Research brings me back time and again. As for a good time for the run, I honestly can’t get the miles under my belt I would like, so I’m just happy to get round and enjoy myself.

Maasai Warriors
“The atmosphere from the start all the way through to the end was absolutely fabulous. Hopefully we will get more money for our village and doing this marathon was such an enjoyable event for us all.”

Amanda Holden (TV Actress)
“I enjoyed every second but when I got to 22 miles I found it really hard work. The crowd was amazing, shouting and banging and it really helped to keep me going. This is my first marathon but it won’t be my last. I’m absolutely knackered but I’m glad to do something for the Born Free Foundation.”

Steve Hartley (TV Actor)
“That’s the hardest marathon I’ve done yet but I got my best time. I really pushed it out to stay on the pace and I’m really proud of myself.”

Gary Webster (TV actor)
“It was hard work but I’m glad to have got round and hopefully raise some awareness. My time was longer than last year and I really struggled. The crowd were great even in the rain and it’s been another wonderful experience.”
